Default Dead with wierd electrical symptoms

Daughter's 2002 Blazer 2 door with 4 WD has been stalling occasionally. She mentioned that one time it happened the guages all acted strange. I changed the gas and air filters and put some seafoam in the gas and it did not act up for a few days. She is now back at school and just called and said as she was driving the lights and guages began to act crazy going off and back on and the vehicle stalled. She started it drove to where she was going, shut it off and now it is completely dead. No lights at all. Additionally when she attempted to start it the key became stuck in the ignition switch because it will no longer turn back. I had her tap on the key with no success. There have not been any check engine lights at any time.
I thought it might be the fuel pump and was going to test it Saturday but now I'm thinking ignition switch. The battery is about 6 months old.
Anyone had experience like this. Of course it is a pain to deal with something 200 miles away so any help will be appreciated

Default RE: Dead with wierd electrical symptoms

Searching the forum further I found a post which listed the identical symptoms as the daughter's blazer. It was suggested that the ignition switch might be bad. So as I was researching that I received a call from her and she said the AAA guy was attempting to jump the vehicle when he discovered that the battery cable bolts were loose. Tightened them, and it started right up.
I'm embarrassed, I've been fooling around with cars for 50 years now and I've never had something like that happen (I installed her battery last summer).
I guess one just keeps learning.
Anyway I hope that solves the problem.
I will be checking them quite often from now on.
