dipstick to long on 4l50e trany
I put a rebuilt transmission in my 2000 blazer now the dipstick is all most an inch to long. Not knowing if there is two different length sticks or not I dropped the pan there is a plate just bellow the tube not letting the dipstick seat all the way down in the tube. I never noticed the area of the dipstick when changing filters on the old transmission. Did I miss something putting the new transmission in? Has any one run into this problem? It's not slipping or any thing but I'm worried about getting an accurate fluid reading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The dipstick and tube for the 4L60E in the S-10 Blazer is shorter than the full
size 4l60E transmissions. The plate on the valve body is to stop the dipstick
gives you a accurate reading on dipstick. The level when the trans is up to temp.
on level ground should be even with the top of the pan rail.

First off thank you both for the replies . In my hast of typing I did not cap my L in the 4L60E transmission. So I'll contact Moveras the company that rebuilt the transmission I purchased to see if they updated the plate higher for some reason.
