Default disc pad replacement question

I've read through most of the posts about replacing disc pads. I am about to replace my front pads on a 2001 blazer 4x4. The question is that someone told me that I couldn't just press the pistons back into the calipers because it has ABS while someone else has told me that's not true. The question is it true or false and done like any others? I'd rather know for sure BEFORE I goof something up. Anyone know?

I have never had a problem pushing the piston back in. I have done it more times than I can count and seen it done more times than I care to think about.

Thanks its better to have somebody that has done a particular vehicle before than to cause yourself more trouble than necessary. Now I feel a bit better about doing it like I've always have. Thanks again.

Push away. I have done more brake jobs to count and not a single one had issues from pressing the piston(s) back in manually.

Yeah just push the piston in with the old brake pad and a vice grip! Easy peasy!
