Wanting to do this soon. Got the clear tubing and container, which line do I take off of the radiator to do the fluid exchange? 01 Bravada. Also, how much ATF should I plan on getting? Will be running the fluid out until it turns bright red.

 

so you arent changing the trans filter then?
and how do you plan on getting the new fluid in the trans while its spitting out the old fluid?

i just did mine and it took 5 quarts but i pulled the pan and changed the filter. if you are going to do it the way that you are talking about, i would buy more than 6 quarts. you can always return what you dont use.

 

I dropped the pan and changed the filter already, along with replacing the 5 or so quarts of ATF I drained off. This was about a month ago.

The idea is to watch how much fluid comes out and refill it through the dipstick tube at an even ratio.
