Stock Audio Exchange
My 2004 Blazer 4Dr has the 6 speaker sound system. On the dash they are mid/high mid to treble, front doors are low mid/bass and rear doors are mid/bass. I can replace the rear no problem with 4 way speakers (or is that a good idea?) and I think they are 6 1/2. But my problem is with the front. My two questions are what size are they and how can I replace them. You can't really find a speaker with just 2 sound wavelengths. What can I do? I am keeping my stock Cd player until later on.

The 4-doors have the same speakers in the front and rear doors.....they are all 4 6.5". The dash speakers are just tweeters (highs only...mounted in a 4x6" plate. Get some components with remote mountable tweeters for the front doors and put the tweeters in the dash. 4-ways will not sound near as good IMO.

Cool, thanks. I'll see what I can do when I get there. But still feel free to tell me what any of you did to your systems.

I don't even have any 6x9's in the back of my two door anymore. kinda get drowned out by the sub. In the front, I now have CDT Euro Series 6.5" components.

I do have some old 4X6 Pioneer 3-way speakers just laying around. Will those work as my dash speakers? I also have some old Pioneer 6 1/2s 4 way, will they work for my rear or would it be better to install them in my front doors?

RE: Stock Audio Exchange
if you put 4x6's in the dash that will be fine. put the 6.5's in either doors. wont really matter either way, just depends on where you want the sound. Be careful with factory speakers, which are usually 8 ohm and aftermarket, usually 4 ohms. but shouldn't be a problem.

Cool, thanks dude. Anything I need to do to the wiring? In my old Blazer, I have to convert the wires. Do I have to do that here?

RE: Stock Audio Exchange
shouldn't have to, but it wouldn't hurt anything to upgrade all the speaker wires, will get better sound out of em.
