Is this new harness from a different year? If you connected this wire and then hook up battery... and then start engine... (I know you haven't gotten this far yet) ...Is everything normal otherwise? If so then just make this wire a switched source.
A bit of advice... finish other things and come back to this. Sometimes it helps to step away and come back with a fresh perspective after a break.

Hey,

The new harness is from a 97. All I got left to do is find a hard fuel line. Other than that its pretty much done. I tried to repair the line, I got something to hold the fuel but its not safe so I don't want to start it up.

I feel like I am overlooking something which wouldn't surprise me because of how much I have been working on this lately.

I was just sitting here thinking...

I was told this bus bar is a non-switched +12V...This wire comes from the alt, where the battery wire hooks up with it meaning its a +12V supply. Its the wire that supplies the bar with the continued +12V.

So my problem is somewhere else correct?

So in other words... your saying that since the bus is "supposed" to be hot at all times then there is something between the bus and all the circuits that is allowing the circuits to come on? Something that should be controlled by the ignition switch?
I am not sure... I have never gotten into this part of the electrical system of an S10 Blazer before... just trying to throw ideas out there for ya.

Yeah,

I am trying to decide where to start, the fuel pump is coming on, the DRL's are coming on aswell as the service lights on the cluster. I have no idea if all these wires tie in somewhere together.

I am wondering if maybe some wires got crossed when I was installing the motor. I am not sure what would cause this though. I don't think there is a way to plug one of the plugs on the harness into the wrong spot, they only fit in a specific spot.

So this leaves the wires I had to hook up without plugs. Which Are...

2 Ground O Rings on each head
1 wire from batt to alt
1 wire from alt to bus bar
1 ground on firewall by blower motor resistor
2 wires from batt to starter
1 Ground from batt to block

I don't see how any of these wires would cause this issue. Would a bad PCM cause this?

isn't there supposed to be 2 wires to the back of the alt.? one from the harness power and the other one goes to the starter..Not sure if yours is set up like mine tho.

3 ground wires on the back of both heads and a ground from battery to the lower front block (passenger side)

I don't know about no starter wire coming from the alt. That comes from the battery on mine.

There is 3 wires on each hear but only 2 O-ring connectors (2 wires in 1 o-ring).

REELBROKE2 - Man thanks so much. Mine are hooked up diff at the bus however its the same wires in the same harness and the red wire runs to the back of the alt and splits into 2 but stays in 1 connector.

This makes me think its not this wire its something else. I just have to figure out was is hooked up wrong to cause my pump and drl to come on and it should solve the problem. I am going to get on it first thing in the morning I will post my findings.

Thanks again to all that helped and please if you have any insight please post it here and I will let you know!!! THANKS!
