Ok so what do I need to buy to replace it? Any gasgets involved when I replace that? Any other sensors I should replace that may contribute to this inaccurate temp reading.

well u will defininitly need a thermostat gasket and maybe some teflon tape around the senders threads. i also put some high temp rtv sealant/gasket on the termos housing for added security, just make sure u wait for the rtv to dry before driving. u can run the truckto check for leaks but u dont want get the rtv in the intake. and on the 92 tbi the thermo is on the opposite end of the intake. what i mean is the egr is in the back while the thermo is up front. follow the top hose from the rad to the thermo housing. also i have two wires grounded to the housing make sure they arre not stuck to the housing if u have these wires and then when tightening make sure u hold on to the wires so they dont turn with the bolt a break.

Ok, so basicly follow the radiator hose from the top of the radiator to this thermo housing. So then I drain the radiator, then take the hose off the thermo housing and the thermostat sensor is inside that? That is what I need to replace?

no the tstat is in the housing, the sender should be imediatly to the left of the tstat/housing, at least it is on the 92 4.3 tbi

Ohh I thought you guys said it was inside the engine where the radiator hose connects? I cannot pinpoint where this is. I think I know where it is, but you guys say it is not that.

coolant temperature sender is the name and i think its in the cylinder head on the drivers side on a 2000, just above the steering column near the middle plug.
