Well, for starters, you have not stated any codes??? But from the other threads you have posted in, I see that you have a P0440 code... I am sorry for the situation you presently find yourself in. Help us help you by providing clear, consistent information.

Have you run through the diagnostic steps presented in the page linked to above? Searched the forums for what others have done when they have had the P0440 code?

Could you summarize everything that you checked, how you checked them, and what the results of those checks were?

sorry I have been going through this thing forever reading hundreds of threads, I have a p0440 code, slight misfire at idle, I will be getting a new cap rotor and wires soon, with the p0440 I removed and checked the purge solenoid at the engine, the vent that site in front of the fuel tank and removed the vapor canister. The purge and vent both clicked when connected to 12 volts, I could see the vent valve open and closing but the solenoid on the engine just clicked, so maybe that is bad, I tried to stick a nail in it to feel movement but couldnt feel much, the vapor canister was not full of gas, I blew in one of the 3 holes on the can and it came out the other, i did not blow in the 3rd to see if it was closed or not which I think I will try soon... Any ideas? I do not have a vacuum gauge... How can u tell if the vapor can is bad? Is there a valve in there that can rust shut or anything like that? I did not check any of the wires on the truck but they appear good. All help is appreciated... somewhere I read that the p0440 is a large leak? is this true? I am getting ready to bite the bullet and bring it to the mechanic... I can get a used vap can for $10 locally with 140k... dont know if its worth a try at that price.
