Question Exaust bolts

Today I tryed heating the bolts with map gas and used a punch and hammer to try and pound them out.I made absolutely no progress at all.Are you guys sure that these bolts arent threaded?

I would just leave it, I think the 4.3's sound nifty with exhaust leaks, they sound like diesels LOL

The studs are not threaded, they are press fit into the converter flange and might have a spot weld, can't remember for sure. Grind the heads off and punch 'em out.

its not that i don't like the sound, i just need to fix it for an emissions test in a few months, and living in canada, i need to take care of the problem soon before snow and ice enables me to do it

Don't worry it will just take more time and heat I ended up melting the bolts out with torches after I got tired of hammering on them. Good Luck

Default Bolts still not removed

I still havent got my broken bolts out.Im tired of beating on them.I have burned the tips off drill bits even using machine oil on them.Im stuck at this step of fastening my exaust.Just more $ to spend on this $ pit thats still probaly a month away of running providing everything is hooked up correctly.
