Both the 35 and 36 mm deep sockets will work. The 35 will fit snugly on the center bolt and the 36 mm will have some play. But if you get the six point 36 mm, it will not round the center bolt at all---even though you are applying a lot of torque to it.

Yeah, 6 point is my choice too... end up with a butt-ton of sockets over th years but there are times that a 6-point socket is the difference between using a nut splitter or just some PB Blaster.
My son ordered this 35MM socket from Amazon when he ordered the hub: Amazon.com: TEKTON 4935 1/2-Inch Drive by 35 mm Deep Impact Socket: Home Improvement , worked & fit perfectly.
I can also recommend the 3/4" drive 3 foot long torque wrench from Harbor Freight along with a 3/4 to 1/2 inch adapter. This is the one I have had for about 15 years & while some of HF's tools are useless junk this thing is great! http://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-qua...rench-808.html

The Amazon deal on the 35 MM deep impact 1/2" drive socket is a great deal, especially with the free shipping. I have had good luck with the HFT hand tools, but I am not a professional mechanic who uses them everyday. HFT has a good return policy , so keep those sales tickets. I have a HFT long breaker bar in 1/2" and a extension with a 19 mm deep impact socket I carry in my Blazer always. I have helped more touristas with flats than I have had to use it myself. The problem being is the tire stores use the air wrenches set to max torque.
