Default fuel gauge mystrey

Ok, coming home from work noticed the needle on my fuel gauge started bouncing from empty to the little black stop when i would excelerate and when i would come to a stop it didn't do it. Then when i stopped and put gas in it it didn't do it any more. I have a 1995 s-10blazer 4x4 2-door. Can any one tell me what could have caused this phenom?

Thanks, Shane

Check the related threads below. Mine does the same, I just go by the trip odometer and fill up when it hits 225-250 miles. This thread explains it pretty well.

Thanks, that explains the issue. I should be ok then for now until it warms up here.

Thanks, Shane

Default RE: fuel gauge mystrey

Fuel gauge may be inaccurate or drops to empty (E) and the low fuel light comes on. This condition is most apparent when the gauge is at or below the quarter (1/4) tank
The gauge will take a few minutes to show the actual fuel level. The VCM/PCM is the buffer for the fuel gauge.
[ol]On a Automatic Transmission no buffering takes place when the transmission is in park or neutral. This is a NORMAL characteristic & NO repairs are necessary
On a manual transmission the VCM buffers the fuel guage in all gears[/ol]
