Default Fuel line disconnect from engine.

Hey guys, first time poster, long time lurker.

I'm trying to disconnect the fuel lines from the engine on a 2000 Blazer with one of those clamp disconnect tools. After loosening the nut, I'm able to push the fitting underneath the quick connect and I can feel the clip push in, but I'm not able to slide the line out. Should I be pulling the line from the engine side or the other side when disconnecting? Thank you in advance.

Where are you trying to disconnect the fuel line? I ask because there are no quick disconnects on top of the engine... Where the fuel lines enter the spider, there is a single retaining nut which holds a plate that backs up the fuel lines. At the back of the engine, there are threaded fittings.

The two lines there are attached by a smaller nut anchored into a larger one, but after loosening the smaller one and sliding it back, the larger one doesn't budge. Before getting the tool, I tried wrenching it off, but to no avail. Asked the guy at Advanced ( probably my first mistake. ) how to loosen this fitting and that's what he recommended. If that's not what is needed, how in the hell does that disconnect?

They just pull out. You may want to remove the bolt that holds the lines down to the lower intake manifold to give you better movement. Also, if you haven't already removed them from where they enter the spider on the other end, do that now.

Thanks. What advice I'd been given threw me off and I didn't even think about removing that bolt holding down the bracket. Worked like a charm.
