The lock ring in your car is different than one for a metal tank but the principles of removal are the same.
Read my post.. the link I provided. And believe me that thing is useless in 80% of the cases we'll see on here. You'd have to knock the rust loose first to use it, by that time it's just as easy to tap it around, anyway
Actually "somewhere" is here.

The OP does say you should be able to remove it without the tool but I did want to get others input. My Blazer is my daily driver so if I drop the tand and then find I need a special tool I'm in trouble.

I did read your thread, very informative, and I appreciate you taking the time to post and take pics for others like me!

I got a sending unit from ebay for about $20 it was for a OEM pump but I was able to make it work on a replacement pump.

Okay... Bosch plat plugs dont work in chevy's, Bosch O2's dont work well in Chevy's.

Unless you can find the specs for it ant the rating is for a 60 psi system, dont do it.
Walbro is a better brand and I would only use a Walbro HP rated pump, IF I could find one that's form and function suited for the DELPHI sender assembly. Not easy to do.

Just do a genuine Delco pump or Delphi assembly. Why screw around.

I would just spend the money now. You will have the gas tank out. (pain in the butt) I'm not sure how many miles your blazer has on it, but if your sending unit is bad, your pump is not long for this world. Chevy's are notorious for fuel pumps, blazers not excluded. Speaking from experience, just replace the whole thing. Definitely change your fuel filter too, as some one else suggested.

yeah I got mine fixed and less than 30 days the fuel pump died. I should have listened but my fuel tank straps are nice and shiny being off and on twice.

I'm gonna try the Bosch pump. It's 72.5 psi and I ended up getting it cheap. Sells for $349 at Advanced, but I got it on eBay for $159. I had put one in my s10 pickup with a 2.8 and it worked great.
