Been getting back to working on my long-project, i've noticed that all of the gauges are not really smooth throughout their movement range, its especially noticeable in the tach and the oil pressure gauge as both have defined points where they jump or jitter when moving, Is there an easy way to lubricate them or do i have to replace the servos?

 

When my speedometer started acting that way, I replaced the whole gauge cluster. Only downside was that the odometer was off. I didn't have a scan tool that could reset it at the time.

 

well thats unfortunate, i want to retain this cluster since it shows the accurate mileage, and while it does not mean much to me because i never plan on selling the truck i do want to keep accurate track of mileage for the WTF factor in a few years time lmao.

Im going to get some servo grease and try lubricating the motors, since there is not much of anything electrical that can cause the type of operation issues im describing.

 

There are two solutions:
1) Just record the difference in the mileage values in your records, or
2) Have the mileage value reset using a scan tool.

But I get the desire to keep the same mileage!
