Default Grandmas 95 Restore!

I have my grandmas 95 LT 4wd, 90k on the clock. Its been sitting in my garage for the winter and has spent about 70-80% of its life kept in a garge but has been through every winter. Does not have any major rust. I am basically going to do a full restore on it slowly. Have some questions.

Problems :

Fuel pump leaking down in the tank causing hard start when hot. Planning on replacing with ac delco part, is this my best option?

Pretty much every freeze plug is leaking, I am not sure if there are freeze plugs behind the bell housing, if so pulling the motor is the best option I am guessing. Plus the oil pan is leaking.

Every suspension part in the front is bad or going bad. I see some complete sets of off brands on ebay for only 100$. I know these trucks like their factory parts but they cant be that bad can they ?

What shocks do you guys recommend?

Paint still looks great for the most part. There is one spot that has peeled mabe a 2 inch strip no rust there though its kinda strange. Should i clay bar it?

Thanks in advance for any input, I will post pics tomorrow.

hey as for the fuel pump u can get any aftermarket pump and stick it in with the sending unit, as for the freeze plugs i have 2 leaking on mine and plan on getting mine done soon as well before the hot summer bursts them out. now for the 100 dollor ebay suspension kit i RECOMMEND U NOT BUY IT. i bought the kit my self and 3 months later all the parts were falling apart causing some serious saftey hazzords. if ur gonna upgrade do it right the first time and get moog parts yes they are pricy but saves u from changing it down the road and the moogs are life time warrenty and are greasable.

AC Delco is definitely the way to go with the high-pressure fuel pumps required for our trucks. On the older TBI units an after-market pump can do a fine job because it only needs to supply about 12psi. Our trucks need to see 55-60psi and that's a tall order for anything other than a factory pump.

I've used good and not-so-good suspension parts in various vehicles over the years and I can say that I much prefer the long-term durability of the quality, high-dollar parts. I put some AutoZone lower ball joints in my '92 Vandura and they have not worn all that well. When they do get replaced I will use quality parts.

Good luck with the truck. Sounds like you've got a superb vehicle!
