Default How do I reset passkey system 01 ZR2 Blzr?

Vehicle starts, then dies after 2 seconds, "security" light on steady. I had just replaced a bad alternator which of course required battery disconnect. Any ideas appreciated as I do not want to pay a tow-bill and a FAT dealer maint bill for what ought to be a quick procedure. Thanks.

Followed procedure - didn't work. I note though, that the "SECURITY" lite is on steady vice flashing as called out in procedure. Any ideas?

Ok - followed another procedure I found through Google which basically said to attempt start, leave key in run position for 10 min then reattempt start from run position (don't turn to OFF). That didn't work either, so,

I disconnected battery for a couple min, reconnected, SECURITY lite now flashing vice steady, and joila - vehicle started first attempt, runs like a champ. Go figger, lol! Thanks for the reply though...

If you cannot get the security light to blink like it is supposed to, the PCM has locked out the possibility of a self relearn. As you have found out, resetting the PCM often can unlock the passlock system and allow for a self relearn. If a battery disconnect does not allow for a self relearn, then you only other option is to get it force relearned by the dealer.
