with the heatshield I kno it blocks hot air from te engine but is it really that useful?

I want to take mine out cause I feel like it's blocking air from getting to the intake , and with the fan blowing next to it I feel like that air from the fan would help the intake maybe I'm wrong

 

The hot air is worse for performance. The heat shield is not restricting anything going into the engine, but it is blocking the hot air that is coming from the engine and radiator from being sucked into the intake.
