How much power to IFS on 31's

I was wondering how much power a stock/lightly modded ifs will handle on 31's

i used to wheel with a guy who put 31 on a stock 2.8 blazer and beat the heck out of it and never broke anything. i would think just dont get to crazy. especially when turning the wheel. i ran 33s for a while and they would snap almost everytime i turned the wheel. straight i had no issues
