Is HP gonna have to slap a....
Whats up guys, hope all is well.
I've got a question/rant for you guys.
Quick background- 99 blazer. 4wd with AUTO4wd. Was stuck in 4 lo, etc. Couldn't get it to 2 hi.
Took it to the shop on 6-2-10, to a guy who specializes on transmissions. Gave me an estimate to replace the encoder motor for 300$.
Today is the 18th, still haven't got the blazer back. Am I wrong for being a tad impatient right now? haha
Anyway, he replaced the motor..said the motor seemed to be working but he said there was a "circuitry" problem, what ever the hell that means.
That was on Monday, no word from him until TODAY when I called. He says that he can't find any tech ( Does he not know of the Blazer Forum, haha) and that the dealers have all the tech. specs. on the blazer. So he ordered a computer ( I then said, you mean the TCCM--he agreed) and that it would be replaced today ( if i had a dollar everytime this mechanic said that, I would be able to buy a new blazer).
My thing is, hell, I could have done a trial and error and replaced every dag on thing dealing with the 4wd. The mechanic claims theres no way to tell if it is the TCCM..which is contradictory to what I've read on here about getting the diagnostic codes.
Do you think this TCCM will fix it? I mean 3 weeks. I think it's pretty ridiculous. What do you boys think I should do?
