Intake Gasket tools
Ok so I have been reading posts and I'm going to do my lower intake gasket this sunday. The problem is I can't seem to locate a torque wrench with inch pounds and a fan belt tool. Is there anythingI can use in replacement of these tools? Any special things I should know? It's ashame i just had the upper intake off to do my FPR and now i find this leak. Figures. thansk for anyput.
Fan belt tool? You dont need any special tool to get the belt off...just push the tensioner to the drivers side and take the load off the belt.
If you need the tool to get the fan clutch off, then you can try using a long box end wrench. Put the wrench on one of the pulley bolts (theres 4), and position it so that when the pulley tries to turn, the other pulley bolt hits the wrench. Then hold that wrench still (and the attached pulley), and using a large cresent wrench on the fan clutch shaft and pull apart..its probably on there pretty tight...so keep trying
