Intermittent failed starting, low idle(stalling), and misfire.

That's too bad, let me know how it goes. Right now mine seems to be running fine, but in 2 weeks who knows. I did end up doing a smoke test last weekend because some of my hoses looked worn. I had one really tiny leak in the hose going over the brake booster, so I replaced it and another small worn one while I was at it. Although I didn't really notice a change in performance from my leak, it may be something you could look into. I know you changed your hoses, but maybe you have a bad connection somewhere? I believe smoke tests are relatively cheap.

Thanks, so far so good on the IAC swap. Of couse it has only been a day. I definitly will double check my connections and consider the smoke test if I continue to have problems.

This thread has been really helpful for me. I have been having the exact same problems as IT technician. The idle/stall issue on start-up only happens once in a while but when it does it can take up to 10 starts before I get a normal start and idle. Starts to get really irritating.
I just got a new IAC valve and when installing it, the top screw snapped of right at the tip. I'm just wondering if this thing is going to be secure enough with basically one screw holding it in. I have run the truck a few times and it starts and drives with no issues but has a tendency to idle really low (2-300rmp) before settling out at a normal rpm whenever coming to stop. Any suggestions?
