It's rebuilt but it has a lifetime warranty.

Well I suppose I did forget to mention that didn't I? The reason that I replaced my alternator was because I was running a 1000w stereo amp without the big 3 upgrade or a capacitor, which I removed as soon as I noticed these things. My headlights were really dim, and said instrument lights were flickering or pulsating. The voltage is reading at around 15/16 when first started but it goes down to a little above 14 when warmed up.

OK so I cleaned both the MAF and IAC Valve, and now the idle will not stay stead it jumps around, but it has not died yet. Also the speedometer needle is pegged at 100 and won't move. Is there a certain length of time that I need to run it for? Or a reset type thing? I am just confused ... Also I replaced the battery and that fixed my lighting problems.

Thread title "replaced alternator" plus the flickering , pulsing ect . led me to suspect You had installed a faulty rebuilt alternator. Not a big deal to return it for a replacement ... maybe get them to verify spec'd output before leaving the store with the new one
