Default Knock Sensor Removal

So here's the problem, I know where my knock sensor is (of course in the hardest spot in the world to get to; on the bellhousing flange) either way I am getting codes for a faulty knock sensor and multiple misfire.

So I was wondering if anyone had any advice on removing the knock sensor while the engine is still in the truck.

Help?

Remove what's in your way and remove it. It isn't that complicated...

Its located under the distributer on the drivers side of the bell housing flange next to the firewall.

I was going to remove the distributer... was just wondering if there was a way in which I didn't have to do all of that work. But se la vie.

ok, I have to change this knock sensor on the 2000 Vortex 4WD to get inspected. do you have to remove distributor to change sensor? does anyone who has changed this sensor have any tips to do the job? if I have to remove distributor, I will have to pay someone, and I really don't have the funds to do so at this time. Any help will be appreciated.

I have done it without removing the distributor, but it takes some finagling. Getting it back in can be interesting as well.
