@abn31b so u had a nice time? Yah I think it is gud. U r rite abt the smell, some of the waters feel like u r drinkin some chemical instead of water...lol a bit exaggeration....
So i was wonderin if I even have that system in my blazer. I mean im not even sure its there...how can i confirm it? I do hve that sensor on the right front speaker. But the dtrls never work. I mean they are already off. At night i have to turn em on myself.

I dont know, it might be a different set up. Your Blazer is probably a UK Blazer but you could confirm by checking the vin vs a vin decoder. You could also check your RPO codes on the sticker in your glove box. that will get you started. As far as I know, your year SHOULD have auto lit head lights when you put it into gear

Well I think you are mistaken again. DRL's are NOT your headlights, they just make your vehicle more visible at night, nothing else including marker lights or your dash would come on with them on. What you're thinking of is automatic headlights which came on certain packages. I have the LS and I hate the auto lights feature so I disabled them. I think you may be stuck with having to rotate that little ****.

ABN31B: If you dont want to have to push the button so many times to get them to turn them off all the time, locate the DRL relay in the fuse box under the hood and bend pin 86 back, this will allow the Hi-beams to still come on when you want them to but the DRL to stay off.

@ABN31B ...lol I didnot get a single thing..I mean wat is vin decoder. how can i get that?and wat is rpo?
@codfos... Now i understand wat is dtrl...but even that never turns on at night. I mean there is no dash light at night and neither do the 50% lights come on. So i was thinkin maybe it already is off. But i dont know how to turn them on.
@ both... I usually park my cark without ebrake. I just leave it in the park gear and stop it. I was wondering if this has to do with anythin.

@raza514: Your parking brake use would have no effect on the lights

Your vin number will tell you stuff about your vehicle, nothing SUPER important, unless you have a foreign built car, which may have foreign specs which would make it different than the cookie cutter american/canadian blazers. If that is the case, your Vin will let you know (if you didn't already). Just google something like "chevy blazer vin number" and it will show you a break down. Also it's in the owner's manual if you have yours.

As for the RPO codes... there is a sticker in the glove box that breaks down the Regular Production Options. It is like a list of all the bells and whistles your vehicle came with rolling off the production line. Just write down what the sticker says, and decode away with the linked lists. Thank swartllk for that one, and zero psi for this one
@ CodFos: Yeah I have been puting off the DTRL Disable mod and the Quad Beam mod as I need to work on the Make My Truck Work mod first...

@raza514 Well, if you had your parking brake on, then that would effect the DRL's as in they would be off... but if you never put it on then it would not be an issue. You might have a relay out or something.

@ABN31B Yeah, i installed a switch that goes through my firewall and into my center console so I could control it even more. I want to bypass the relay for my fog lights so i can run all three at the same time, even though it is illegal to have more than one pair of head lights and one pair of non marker lights on the roads.

you're wrong on the first part, correct on the latter part.

DRL's are for daytime visability, hence why they're called Daytime Running Lights, and only turn on your high beams @ a lower voltage. very annoying when people (idiots) don't turn on their HL @ night. Honda's are the worst for it, their instrument cluster lights up @ night, but the HL's don't come on, so brainless Honda drivers forget to trn them on. what did these people do way back when we didn't have everything done for us?................that's right, we learned how to drive!

as for the Auto Lights feature, i thought they only came on the LT's (but obviously not). how did you get them to deactivate? i had heard that you need to put a resistor across the plug for the sensor, but can't remember what size it is, or in what post it was mentioned in. and yes, i did search for it.

Right, that was a typo, why would you run your DRL's at night? Duh. I meant to say that they were more visible during the day. Oops.

Anyway, https://blazerforum.com/forum/general-tech-help-7/auto-headlights-5522/ should help you deactivate those head lights. If you have a 98 you need the 1k ohm resistor, but if you have a 99+ i think you need the 2.2k ohm, which are sold in packs of like five at radio shack for super cheap. I thought Blazers came on LT's only as well, maybe it wasn't a feature the original owner picked out.

Allright! Let us know!
