Default Locking Questions

My 1999 Blazer LT doesn't have a remote for locking/unlocking and am curious if I'm able to purchase one and make that work or do they need different wiring harness's?

Also when I lock the doors from the button on the driver's door, the driver's door lock doesn't lock and I have to manually push the lock down. Is that normal or should it lock when the button is pressed for locking and unlocking, maybe it just need a squirt of RP7?

Thanks..

Lots of information about adding 'RKE' can be found around here. Run a search and read up.

As far as your driver door not locking, that isn't normal. It sounds like the lock actuator isn't working properly. It is part of the door latch. You have to remove the inner trim panel to get at the latch. You can try removing the latch and cleaning the actuator or just grab a used latch from the junkyard.

Cool thank you for that, even though unfortunately can't just grab one from a junkyard down here, but will have a look at it..
