1998 Blazer 4wd 4dr
Do you know how far I can safely drive my Blazer with 1 quart less oil than it should have? That is, 3.5 quarts in the engine.

 

Why don't you just put a quart in rather than finding how far you can go?

 

Sorry I didn’t explain first. I took my Blazer to the shop for an oil change. I forgot to bring a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer for them to put in with the oil change. They said they could just put 3.5 quarts in instead of 4.5 quarts, as long as l go to the parts store soon to get the stabilizer in.

 

I'd follow their advice then.

 

With a new oil filter, 5 quarts are required.

 

My 2001 4x4 takes 4.5 quarts with filter.
