Low oil pressure shut down / reset
My 99 blazer shut down due to low oil pressure. I changed oil and checked all fuses . Tirn key on, everything looks good. But It wont crank to start so I can see if it solved my problem.... Need help Thanks
I was 1 block from home and the pressure dropped to all most nothing and all kinds of power loss and knocking . when I stopped it shut down. couldn't start it back up . would not crank when turning key.
Try turning the engine with a ratchet and socket on the crank bolt.
It sounds like the engine is completely seized which means a replacement engine is in your future. They don't last long without oil pressure.

Go ahead and try to turn the crank bolt as suggested because that will rule out a seized engine but if the engine were seized and nothing else was wrong then the starter would slam into the frozen flywheel and the system voltage would drop multiple volts. Did the oil gauge drop instantly from normal to zero? If so, was there oil anywhere outside the engine or on the road? What was the dipstick level?

The crank shaft pulley moves when do that Chuck... I don't even get a clicking noise that the starter is engaging when I turn the key. the dash lights just go out each time I turn the key absolute silence when turning key
Oil level was perfgect . no loss of oil at all . oil pressure dropped below 20 and had loss of power to engine. I think my problem at this point is just getting the starter to engage to start the truck. cant trouble shoot any fixes until then. I even disconnected the Battery thinking it might reset a safety feature that shuts down truck because of oil pressure that didn't work either.
