Default Minor overhaul to 95 "w" Blazer.

Getting ready to pull the engine due to freeze plugs leaking. Going to repair what is needed. So far I plan on doing the following.

-Freeze Plugs
-Spider Injection unit, 1 year on new one and 3 year on the reman torn on which to buy.
-Thermostat
-Water pump
-Oil lines to oil filter
-Valve cover gaskets
-Upper intake manifold gasket
- EGR valve
- Full basic tune up- plugs, cap, wires etc.

All parts will be OEM, Delphi/Delco

Any other areas I should address?

This is a picture of the freeze plug, this is why I am pulling the engine. The two in front are leaking and both sides by the engine mounts are leaking. I figure the two in the bell housing are also failing.

Almost positive you can do that without yanking the motor. Not sure but I would do some research. I know people have fixed them with just JB weld. There just casting plugs for were they made the block.

I am pulling the motor, Removed the torque converter cover and was able to view the 2 freeze plugs behind the flexplate. 1 is leaking 1 is fine. The truck only has 91k on it and has been garage kept since the day it was bought, so for a 1995 it is in wonderful shape and I intend on keeping it that way so I wont be doing anything but the correct repairs on the truck.

I was just wondering if I should pull the timing cover and lower intake manifolds while I have it out, I guess logic says yes because it is the best time to do it, but nothing is leaking.

Also what about the lifters? they were fine when I parked the truck so I imagine there is no need to remove/inspect/replace them.

It is not my daiily driver so the downtime is not an issue. I plan on treating any rust areas in and around the engine compartment while the engine is out also.

I also need to pull the tranny dipstick to media blast the inside as it has corrosion, any easy way to do this with the trans in the truck? there is a support bar around it that is part of the tranny bellhousing bolt I am assuming that has to be removed? Or can i wiggle my way around it?

how many miles? And what motor there were a couple that year.
If your intent on pulling why not do everything you have access to.
I would do an oil pressure sending switch, that's one thing on mine I would have toved to have the motor out

Yea and you don't have motor mounts on your list, I did not see them at least.
