Default Missfire ?s

So I have a 96 4x4 4.3 and the other day it started to miss on me when at idle and shuttered when leaving a stop. Pulled some codes my o2 sensor was a few of them thats been going on for a couple months now but had a #6 missfire so pulled the plug and wire tested everything was good plug looked a little old but in great shape replaced it anyways (had a couple lying around). So decided to work on it again today and still happening so checked the codes and no o2 codes but a p0300 random missfire was there. So as soon as the engine cools im going to pull the rest of the plugs and check there first. But im just wondering where is my best place to start after that btw im a broke college student so not lots of money. So id like to test as much as i can before i start dropping money on tons of parts I do plan on replacing the plugs and wires tho cheep plugs are in there now. Any help on where to start would be great thanks in advance.

Oh and drives just fine going down the road and at highway speeds only does it at idle and when taking off from a stop or when its just crawling along with out giving it much gas.

Sounds like the EGR valve could be partially hung open or possibly a small vacuum leak. I would sweep over the vacuum lines and take off the EGR valve, clean it, and reinstall it with a new, screened gasket.

Well I cleaned the egr wasnt real bad but got it spotless and also did my mass air flow sensor that was also pretty clean. It helped it a little bit but still having the problems guess Ill try all new plugs and wires unless anyone else has any ideas.
