Need to replace combo. turn switch assembly
I have a '98 two door Blazer LS that needs to have the combination switch replaced. (The turn signal continues to make an audible ping after the flashers have been turned off. I've tracked down the problem to the switch, with the help of otherthreads on this site) There are two combo switches to choose from on the rockauto website. They are nearly identical except that one has an "Option Code (ZN4)". Does anyone know what Option Code (ZN4) is?
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # DS933 {TURN SIGNAL SWITCH}
Option Code (ZN4); With Cruise Control; Combination Switch Assembly.................................$98.79
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # DS776 {DIMMER SWITCH - HEADLIGHT}
Except Option Code (ZN4); With Cruise Control; Combination Switch Assembly.....................$163.79
There is a $65.00 difference in the price of the two switches. My existing switch looks exactly like the more expensive model ([:@]of course). I would sure like to get the cheaper one if it works for my vehicle.

You must look at your RPO code list in the glove box to determine whether you have option code ZN4 to determine which switch you have.
However, I'm going to try to save you some money! Does messing around with your hazard switch change your condition at all? If it does, then chances are you don't need to spend more than $20 to repair the problem, only needing a replacement hazard switch which is replaceable without removing the column covers! Let me see if I can locate the discussion on the hazard switch for you...
There ya go --> Hazard Switch
Oh and I would never take the picture that is displayed for parts to be exactly what the part is. Would be nice if you could, but I have found so many of them to be wrong that I don't really go by what it looks like until I'm pulling it out of the box at the parts store.

Thanks a ton! I checked the parts list in the glove box and there was no ZN4.
As for the hazard light. It works fine and has no impact on the clicker noise. I had already replaced the flasher module in the hopes that it would be a quick and cheap fix - no luck there.
I'll get the cheaper switch. Wish me luck!

OK. I f#*%d up. The less expensive model has the ZN4 option code,and my vehicle does not. Now the question is this: does the added option make a difference, or is it just an unused feature? In the photos of the parts on the website, there are a couple of missing contacts in the wiring harness for the switch w/o the ZN4 option. Any thoughts?
