'98 4WD, 55K miles...

Is there a trick, aftermarket solution or ANY way possible other than complete removal to stop the sideview mirrors from vibrating like crazy? It got so bad one broke off. I replaced both with OEM mirrors but they shimmy so much I feel like I'm having a seizure when I check them going down the highway.

Thanks in advance.

I've shoved cardboard in one corner, had to replace once in a while but held it straight. Then I found some at the scrap yard that were steady. Been good since...

Most have a rubber/plastic insert under the base - do yours have that ? I have cut a insert out of a heavy rubber sheet about twice the thickness of a inner tube, A heavy truck tube would prob do the trick

My original mirrors did this, too. I got new ones, and that did the trick for a few years.

Since then, about 3-4 years ago, hail took out my passenger side mirror glass. I went to the junkyard and pulled a 'new' one off with a flathead screwdriver.
Snapped it into place, that mirror has been very steady.
