Default New Intake Manifold

I replaced my thermostat in my 2000 blazer and to be shock about 1/4 of the flange the thermostat sits in is corroded away. I have never seen that before, then again after reading all the posts about DEXcool I am not too surprised.

I am doing my head gaskets and I thought that it might be a good idea to put a new manifold on my vehicle. I went the the dealership and they want 1900 for the lower intake manifold...how can they justify this?

The same way they justify the costs of everything. They don't bother to do it at all.

You would be better off going to a local junkyard and pulling a used intake that looks in good condition then paying that kind of money IMHO.
