Default New and need help!

Hey guys, whats up, im new this site but ive just gotten a hold of a 95 4x4 blazer with a v6 vortec and a auto tranny in it. I paid 700 for it in a auction, i dont know much about them but we got to start them up, and listen to them but not drive them. anyway i bought the truck, As i got in to load it onto my trailer after the auction i noticed the tranny seemed to be starting out in 2nd gear or something, and i had to put it in 4wd for it to climb up my tilt trailer. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thx Charles.

Are you sure that it is starting out in 2nd gear? Does the engine run normally? Are there any codes present?
