Yeah, I have to tell you...there are great mechanics that take great pride in doing a good job. Unfortunately, I think in a lot of these shops, they are outnumbered by the "good enough" mechanics. It's pretty disappointing. It gives the good mechanics a bad name. Actually the only mechanics that I trust to do it exactly right are at a local dealership. I've had to use them 3 or 4 times over the years for my Durango and they do excellent work. They actually have a quality control guy who checks the mechanics work before they check off on it. The he walks you through what they did pointing out the work. Of course, more expensive than local "Joe's" shops...but at least I know the work was done right. It you feel like some light reading, take a look at an experience I had a year or so ago. https://blazerforum.com/forum/lounge...ty-work-75440/

damn that sounds like something that happened to my girlfriend. but they gave her no problem and fixed the part they broke, probably because i was on the phone asking why w.e part got broke and had nothing to do with what she brought it in the shop for.

thats one of the many reasons why i love this forum. i got help with my brake line when pepboys tried telling me they had to drop the fuel tank which everyone on here told me thats a bunch of crap and theyre trying to scam me. which i then brought it to my mechanic, (not the bum the main guy) and he did it in the time that captain said itd take and was $400 cheaper than pepbums quoted (i would never ...ever take my truck there..ever)

the support i get on here is not only a convenience but has saved me plenty of $$
