Default no left rear brake light

I searched thru threads and did not find an exact answer to this symptom.

99 chev trailblazer, no left rear brake light.
The left turn signal works, and hazard works. I compared the lamp filaments to the right rear fixture, so I know which filaments are supposed to work.

I cleaned the sockets with contact cleaner and installed 2 new 3057 lamps.

I wiggled the wire going to each lamp socket, plus wiggled/ moved the entire
housing around to see if I could find an intermitant wire, but no success.

Any suggestions on where the problem might be?

Thks,

Update...

I found the brake light would work, if...... I gently pressed in on the turn signal
lever. Did a further search online and found that multifunction switch is often
the cause of many problems.

I will install a used one tomorrow and report results.

Final update:

Today, I installed a used switch from salvage yard, but that one did not
work any better, had no brake lights at all, returned it.

Called around and found a new one, installed it and now left rear brake light
works, plus other all other functions too.

Now, on to other fixes, vehicle needs a cat, muffler and shocks. I am
considering Bilstein shocks, a magnaflow cat and open to suggestions
on muffler.

Glad you got it fixed! I don't know how I missed your post, but I am sorry that no one responded.
