Noisy Endgate-Mounted Spare & Heat Insulation
Hey Gurus!!!
A couple months ago I bought a '98 4.3 Blazer. I've been dreaming for a long time in restoring one of these beauties. Up till now I've been going through the fun process of changing almost everything:
Despite not being a grease monkey in any way, I've been managing pretty decently, I'm very very happy with the job done and of course I'm in love with my truck...It's simply a B E A S T... so far so good, but 'till now I can't figure out:
Thanks in advance

A couple months ago I bought a '98 4.3 Blazer. I've been dreaming for a long time in restoring one of these beauties. Up till now I've been going through the fun process of changing almost everything:
- All the fluids
- Shock absorbers
- Disk brakes
- All the lights
- etc...
Despite not being a grease monkey in any way, I've been managing pretty decently, I'm very very happy with the job done and of course I'm in love with my truck...It's simply a B E A S T... so far so good, but 'till now I can't figure out:
- How to stop the annoying noise that makes the endgate mounted spare, it keeps rattling, I've been tinkering with the two stoppers (? Well, don't know how they are called), but not luck so far. Is there any sweet spot in the regulation to stop the thing from clunking?
- The other thing that makes me worried: The former owner, I think, ripped off all the heat insulation from the truck, you can't imagine how hot is inside my truck in plain summer, we have had 38°C. I don't know if he removed the stuff from the engine side, but under my panel and up to under the front seats, there's the rug and below just metal. I think that wolud be covered by some kind of insulations, if so Can anyone point me in the right direction? What kind of insulation and the best method to re-insulate the area?
Thanks in advance
