not chargeing

i have 96 blazer just put new alternator and has a good battery but gage only showing charge of about 10 help

Double check allconnections, then take a volt meter and check the battery with it running. Should show between 14 to 16 volts running, between 12 to 13.6 not running. Good luck

You say that your battery was good, however, Was it fully charged at the time when you installed the new alternator? You should always fully charge the battery before installing a new alternator. The electrical demand you just put on your new alternator hasknocked at least year off it's new life. Alternators are not battery chargers, they simply maintain the charge in a battery. Anything else just hurts them.
Rule of thumb...
One start of your car on a 70 degree day = approx 15 mile drive to put back what you just used.

For those of you to understand this here is what it is:

Rule Of Thumb: use to be a law where a husband could go out and get a switch no thicker then their thumb and beat their wife with it legally.
