not chargeing
You say that your battery was good, however, Was it fully charged at the time when you installed the new alternator? You should always fully charge the battery before installing a new alternator. The electrical demand you just put on your new alternator hasknocked at least year off it's new life. Alternators are not battery chargers, they simply maintain the charge in a battery. Anything else just hurts them.
