I have to disagree with that statement unless you are talking about the Pro Line with no enhancement packages. My Pro Line scantool with the GM enhanced package can do CASE learns, injector balance testing, transfer case engagement tests, ABS functional tests, CKP retard, etc. Worked on my '04 Rainier, my uncle's '99 S10, buddy's '00 Bravada, and my '04 Tahoe every time I used it and I've tried just about every test option in it on the Tahoe. You have to have the GM enhanced package to gain the bi-directional controls as these are not generic OBD2 functions.

I am happy with the Pro Line connector, but may be stepping up to EFI Live or HP Tuners soon to be able to tune my Tahoe myself. Both of those tools have a full feature set when it comes to bi-directional functionality.

I got the autoenginuity.. without the GM package. It works okay.
Kid got an android app which works on his Jeep but would not connect to my Brava. Think the bluetooth plug was the problem

I will probably go ahead and purchase the Equus 3160.
It sounds like they have fewer problems based on reviews, and they actually answered a techish question

The reader will not preform CASE learn, you will need a TechII or a reader with same ability. Here is the link for user manual of the reader. http://www.innova.com/Content/Support/Manual/Manual_3160_E.pdf

I had one of those Equus scanners. I was disappointed with it. Took it back and bought a ELM327 scanner off http://www.scantool.net/ along with "Scan XL" with "GM enhanced" http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...lstd/index.php. It can do everything except bi directional. That is coming in the future.
