Just wondering if anyone has experience on changing or fixing the oil cooler lines on a '99 Blazer? Should the lines be replaced or can they be fixed. They are just starting to leak. Thanks in advance.

Are they metal or rubber (probably metal)? Is there rust or rock damage? Unless the leak is at the connector at the ends I would think they need to be replaced. If it's at a connector you may be able to use Teflon tape to stop it.

Thanks fnirish - they are mostly rubber so I probably should replace. I didn't know how hard of a job it would be.

Yeah just replace them, then do it again very soon. I just replaced mine last summer, and I need to do them again. I hate these lines they just were designed very poorly. Korey.

I dont think its the lines, it usually isnt. Its usually the rubber o-rings sealing the lines to the oil cooler in the radiator.

Actually, this is usually caused by the poor crimp connections where the flexible lines are connected to the hard lines. Run a search, it has been discussed many times before. If/when mine start leaking on my Bravada, I'll do exactly like we did on my Grandfather's old S10 - Cut the old crimp connections & flex lines out. Braze on -AN fittings to the hard line. Have hydraulic lines made to the proper length to fit.

Thanks for all the replies. I had read about the continual problem of these lines. We'll replace them once, if they start leaking again, approach it differently. Thanks again.
