oil pressure gauge reading at bottom
Yesterday with the help of some friends, we replaced the intake manifold gasket. We forgot to plug in the lead from the oil pressure gauge so the gauge was slack (to the high side). So without removing the distributor, I felt around (blindly) and plugged the lead back in. Now the gauge reads fully to the other side. The pump is running, the oil is warming up as the engine idles, it's not making any odd noises. I'm not worried that oil isn't circulating. However that gauge mis-reading makes the check engine and check gauges lights come on.
I'm thinking I'll need to pull the distributor again and make sure I have everything seated right with the lead and plug. Does that sound about right? Suggestions or tips? This part I'll be doing myself, and I'm a bit shy of working on engines, with my experienced friends yesterday it was ok. But by myself I thought I'd ask here first.
thanks
