Question Overhead console...

I have a 1996 Blazer LS, the overhead console works but when I turn on temp/direction display it just shows 140F NW, what can I check to correct this? I thought about checking the fuses but if it was a bad fuse the display shouldn't even come on at all...so what else can I check?

I am pretty good with maintenance and knowledgeable in most aspects. I checked the manual in the vehicle it doesn't really get into technical or repair issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
David

Sounds like your ambient temperature sensor has failed. It is located behind the grill, in front of the radiator.

I have posted the resistance values for GM temperature sensors before. You should be able to find it by searching for "temperature+resistance" or by CLICKING HERE. The resistance chart should work with all GM temperature sensors.

OK got it, I checked it out and it didn't seem to work right so I went to Autozone and bought a new one for $20 bucks and replaced the old one. Works great now

Thanks!
