A few weeks ago I replaced my leaky oil cooler and remote filter lines with -8 AN hose. I am going to list the parts I used here to help anyone else who might be interested in doing this.
The tools required are:
two 7/8 open ended wrenches
Cable cutters
37 degree flare tool
The parts I used came from Jegs to keep the cost down. Here is a list:
555-100921 6 foot -8AN braided hose
555-110002 -8AN straight hose fitting in black (8 required)
555-110203 -8AN flare union (6 required)
555-110383 -8AN tube nut (6 pieces required)
555-110393 -8AN tube sleeve (6 pieces required)
555-110553 -8AN 1/2" tube fitting with male end (2 required)
I removed all my old lines and using a hacksaw cut off the metal ends with the rubber hose. I cleaned up the edges and using tubing nuts and sleeves flared all the ends from the remove filter block, oil cooler and oil cooler to filter block. I used the male ended tube fittings on the filter block to remote adapter lines. The bend in those lines made it impossible to flare and using tubing nuts. I then cut my AN hose to length using the rubber hoses as a guideline and shortening where needed for the hose ends. The flare unions go between the hoses and the tubing nuts to connect the metal lines with the AN hose. With everything in place there are no more leaks and if I need to service any one area I can simple remove the line and drain the oil.

Thank you for the part numbers. If you throw some pictures together we might be able to put this together as a how-to and add it to the DIY section.

I will see if I can take some this weekend. I already did the work so it would be of the removed parts and what is currently in place.
