Default Passlock System

I've got a very annoying problem with the GM passlock system. Since I got the truck, every so often the security light on the dash would come on, but no other problems. Since bout July, every once in a while when I go out to start the truck, it cranks, but then shuts down and the security light flashes. The manual says this means there is a problem with the Passlock System. Within the last week, the security light is on just about every time I drive, and probably every few cranks the system shuts down the vehicle. I am still using the factory GM key.

Could the control module have lost the key and just needs to relearn (my Range Rover has that problem) or does GM never really 'lose' a key? Also, I've got the Pursuit/Audiovox sercurity system on it (came with the vehicle, not sure of the model...RKE fob says PROOE3FT3).

Any help or things to check would be fantastic, seeing as how I can't ever run late now [:@]

I think the bypass caused some issues with the passlock system. Do you want the security system on the truck still??

Sorry I kept saying Passkey, I meant the Passlock...don't know where I got the key part from...

The bypass for the Pursuit system caused problems with the Passlock is what youre saying? Yes I want the Pursuit system, or another security system if that would cause less of an issue

is the alarm a remote start as well??? if not, prob has nothing to do with the passlock failure. i would go under the dash and look for wires at the ignition that have been tapped into. If you find nothing, dealership time
