About 2 years ago, I put a new fuel injector spider into my 1998 Blazer. Ever since then, the PCV valve will rattle at idle and at stop signs. The noise drives me crazy. I have tried to put a new PCV valve and it did no good. Other then the noise, the Blazer runs great and has not had a check engine light since. Any ideas on how to get rid of the noise? What could possibly cause this?

 

I have known them to make noise usually. are you 100% sure its the PCV?

 

Check the PCV hoses to see if there are any leaks or cracks. Look at the grommets, if any, and check for cracks. I would also invest in a AC Delco PCV valve if you used a store brand. The other brands of PCV valves often try to make one size fit too many models and they don't work quite right.

 

As a tune up I replaced the cheap Chinease plastic PCV valve with a new obviously better quality metal one. Guess what?
