What temperature is your dash gauge reporting?

If you have a scanner with live data, what temperature is the scanner reporting? Is there any freeze frame data with the code?

Here are the proper steps to diagnose:
  1. make sure that the cooling system is full and properly bled
  2. Make sure that the thermostat is good
  3. Jumper the ECT harness signal wire to signal ground with a fused jumper wire and read ECT with a scanner, should read 280F. If not try battery ground.
  4. Test the signal wire and lo ref for shorts, opens, high resistance
  5. Test the ECT sensor
I can help you with any of these steps if you like.
