Default Popping noise

Just bought 01 blazer with 55,000 miles from a dealer. My question is that later tonight I did some running around and started hearing this popping noise comming from the back end somewhere. The best I can describe it is that itsounds like someone is pushing the muffer in and out and making a tin popping around a large air chamber. I parked the blazer and came inside and heard it twice inside with the car off. Any thoughts

I 'be never heard of a gas tank popping before. This is a new one on me. I'd be interested in hearing what you come up with as the problem.

then again, the fuel system is a closed circuit and works off vacuum. Maybe your missing some rubber around the mounts?
