Default Problem Starting After Intake Gasket Replace

i just replaced the intake gasket on my 2000 chev blazer and now it will not start...it turns over fairly smoothly then it almost comes to a dead stop and turns over again...i havent quite herd of an issue quite like this before...i tried resetting the timing on the distributor and im about 98% sure it is set properly...any opinions?

I would goto back to the distributor...sometimes i've been 100% sure i got it right, then had to do it over again. Also make sure you got all the electrical connections plugged back in.

sounds out of time to me, set it up at top dead center compression, #1 cylinder is driver's front, make sure piston is all the way up with both valves closed, the piston will come up twice as you are tuning the engine over by hand, once a valve will be open, the next it will be closed, That is compression. the distributor rotor should then point to the #1 electrode on the distributor cap, on my 02 there is not room to turn the distributor, so you either have the right tooth or you don't. cylinders are 135 on the driver's side, and 246 on the passenger, firing order is 165432, cap is 315 front to back on the driver's side, and 246 and coil on the passenger side. check all that out, if it's right and the battery is up it should crank over nice and smooth, start, and run
