Puddle on passenger floor
hey guys, im having a horrible time locating the cause of my passenger floor being soaked. i drive a 97 blazer zr-2 4wheel drive..i know its not the a/c condenser plug because i havent been running my a/c for days, and just tonight it rained while i was at the movies and i came out to a big puddle (only a couple hours later)..fully saturated. i thought it might be the door seal but i've run a dollar bill around the door meeting resistance the whole way. i do have some wires running from my battery under the cowl and down near the door hinges into the cab. could that be breaking a seal somewhere? can anyone help me figure this out? im about to breakdown and take it to a shop. Thanks

Buy some 1/4" camper weatherstripping (NAPA) and stick it along both doors and see if that helps first. My back door was pissing rain one day and I did that and it stopped. Also check underneath to see if you have a hole in your floor.

A couple of other things.
How's your hood hinge seal?
What happened with mine was the area under the cowl was full of dirt and junk and wouldn't drain properly (except onto my cab floor). Pulled the cowl off and the plastic grille and really cleaned out the cavity and made sure it drained out the side of the cavity like it should. Pulled out garbage by the handful. Drain was completely stopped up. No more wet floor. My problem was on the driver's side though. That really sucked.

Just because you have not used the ac does not mean it is not comming from the blower motor area. I would def check the drain for debris plugging it. Exterior sources of water could just be bilding up and comming in through the blower area. You want to check this and clear it before it causes trouble (rust) on the blower motor. When you find the drain out let in the engine compartment you can stick a wire hanger up it to try to remove blockage but as already stated you will possibly need to R/R cowl and do a thorough cleaning. Good luck and be prepared if the water has been there a while and its hot out it might stink.
