RE: quit running again
Having a hard time deciphering your question and information you provided.
Is is possible the distributor itself is bad? Maybe the trigger is shot. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.
Did you check all the fuses and all the basic stuff like;water in the cap itself;wires are seated on the s-plug, coil and the cap etc....

Brandon,
When you turn the key to the on position, do you hear the fuel pump whine for two seconds?
Do the (idiot) lights in the dash cluster light up when the key is in the on position?
If you answered no to any of these questions, you most likley have a BAD IGNITION WIRING HARNESS..
Good luck and post back here with your findings........

RE: quit running again
Sorry, I also have some difficulty understanding. What do you mean by a "gas rag" and checked timing all the way to fuel and vacuum lines?
You say you get spark to the plugs? If you have spark, then you may have a fuel problem. As DINO55 said, do you hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition to the "on" position?
Do you have a fuel pressure guage? You should have a minimum of 50psi fuel pressure to start the engine.

RE: quit running again
If it has sat for more then a few hours, try again and see if it fires up, If it does try keeping the tank over 1/4. If it runs below 1/4 then the fuel pump over heats and stops working. And no one seems to know what you mean by GAS RAG. Not sure if its an Iowa term or what, but try to use more logic when you post. Might help in trouble shooting the issues with your ride.
